Battlecross will release their debut album "Pursuit of Honor" on August 2nd, 2011 via Metal Blade Records. The artwork was created by Josh Schroeder, the band comments : "The album artwork for Pursuit of Honor was created by the same mastermind who co-produced, mixed, and mastered this album, Josh Schroeder. He made a few merch designs for us in the past and we knew we wanted him to create the album art as well, first of all to keep everything cohesive and relevant, also because we love his unique style and vision, and lastly because he knows us so well. We feel the artwork depicts a strong sense of power and aggression with a leader among warriors. The Pursuit of Honor refers to the ongoing battle within us and the struggle to overcome, to crush all obstacles, and prevail at all costs."

Progressive metallers Mastodon have revealed the title for their new effort : "The Hunter". The album was recorded at Doppler Studios in Atlanta with producer Mike Elizondo. In a recent interview, drummer Brann Dailor described the new album as "a little faster, heavier, crazier… It's all over the place."
Guitarist Bill Kelliher added : "It's a good representation of where we are. There's no 15-minute epic songs on there, but there's a lot of short bursts of energy going on."
We recorded, like, 15 or 16 songs. In a week we did all the drums and we spent the next two and a half, three weeks doing all the guitars and vocals. We did it pretty fast and it sounds great."

It was very difficult to pick a single track to showcase the vast diversity included on this album, and I think this one is a good medium to show the direction we have gone with on FST. I can't wait for you to hear more of the album as, like I said, this album goes through quite a lot of different moods and emotions, in terms of feel and direction, yet is still rooted in the 'Evile sound'. The awesome Daniel P. Carter of Radio 1's Rock Show will be playing the radio debut of the track TONIGHT on BBC Radio 1, so tune in! We will also be showcasing another brand new track at Download Festival this weekend. Lots of Serpent's Teeth coming your way! See you on that road soon!"

I'm really proud of the song, it represents the longevity and brotherhood of the band as well as my relationship with my wife. As far as the video goes, I think it's hands down the best video we've ever made. Jesse Davey is a fucking legend."
