Municipal Waste signs with Nuclear Blast Records

Municipal Waste have issued the following statement :

It took a real long time to decide what we were going to do for our next record. We wanted to work with a label that were not only fans of the band and our music, but were willing to get behind any ridiculous idea that we could think of. Once we realized this, Nuclear Blast was the obvious choice. The Blast has been friends with the band long before doing a record was even a possibility. I feel like we’re starting off with a clean slate and decade of experience to start back up on the right track. Expect some great things in the near future from the WASTE. This is only the beginning!” -Foresta

"Nuclear Blast has shown their love for the WASTE for years. And when it came time for a new deal, it was a no brainer in my eyes. NB all the way. We are thrilled to be included among a roster of great bands and hard working people that love them. I can't wait to get into that studio!" -Witte

The band will be entering the studio this summer to record their fifth full-length album.

Municipal Waste's Tony Foresta offers update

published on September 10, 2010 by Darren Cowan
Richmond, VA's own MUNICIPAL WASTE will never tire of being out on the road. Between big festivals like Best Friends Day & Fun Fun Fun Fest, smaller club shows and the European tour they will embark upon in December, the band find themselves as busy as they've ever been. Frontman, Tony Foresta has chimed in, letting fans know about all of the band's latest exploits:

"Greetings from Richmond! A lot of people have been asking what's been going on with the Waste lately and here is a quick update.
Our summer at home is starting to come to an end and for a great summer ender our Best Friends Day gig was outstanding and probably was my favorite shows of the year. It was so much fun playing such a rowdy and energetic show in our hometown with so many amazing people and bands. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported it.

We are really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things after having the majority of the summer off (which we haven't had in years). You can see our video for "Acid Sentence" on youtube, myspace and the familiar places. It was produced by the great people at Fangoria. We have some really cool gigs coming up in the near future starting with us Headlining the Tankcrimes Brainsqueeze Fest in Oakland California on OCT 9th with our good friends Ghoul, Direct Control and Vitamin X and tons more. We haven't been out west in a long time and we are not sure when we will make it back so DONT MISS IT! Then back on the East Coast on Halloween weekend we are heading down to The Fest in Gainesville Florida. Halloween gigs are really special for us because we always dress up for the occasion and our costumes are usually pretty offensive/ridiculous and this year should be no exception. You have been warned.

After The Fest the Waste will hook up for a weeks worth of shows with none other than High on Fire and Kylesa (Suicidal Tendencies will be on a few of these gigs as well!). Those shows will be leading to the mighty Fun Fun Fun fest in Austin Texas which features one of the most over the top lineups I've seen in a while (Mastadon, Gwar, Suicidal, Devo, Floor, Weird Al and a ton more!). Then in December, we are headed back to Europe for a bunch of shows and see are amazing European fans!!!!

We are really looking forward to all these amazing gigs and have more good stuff in the works so just keep checking our myspace for updates. I swear one day we will actually have a website! (burp) Once again thanks for all the support over the years and see you in the mosh!"

Catch MUNICIPAL WASTE on the following dates:

Sept 29 - Great Scott - Boston, MA
Sept 30 - Club Soda - Montreal, Canada
Oct 1 - Noerthern Lights - Clifton Park, NY
Oct 8 - Tankcrimes Brainsqueeze Fest - Oakland Metro - Oakland, CA
Oct 29 - The Fest - The Venue - Gainesville, FL
Nov 5 - Fun Fun Fun Fest - Waterloo Park - Austin, TX
Nov 9 - The End - Nashville, TN
Nov 10 - V CLub - Huntington, WV

Taken from the band's most recent album, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, the new music video for "Acid Sentence" centers around a serial killer who bathes his victims in acid. Shot in the style of a classic black and white horror film, video offers all of the aggression and fierce gore that fans have come to love about MUNICIPAL WASTE and FANGORIA.

"Acid Sentence" was directed by David McKendry. To give the fans an extra dose of terrifying bloody gore, David also recruited the effects talents at Dapper Cadaver, whose fine gore craftsmanship has graced TV shows like BONES and DEXTER. All of their hard effort has paid off in a video that stands alone as a pure piece of memorable horror.

FANGORIA Magazine to premiere Municipal Waste video at Comic Con

published on July 20, 2010 by Darren Cowan
FANGORIA ENTERTAINMENT is very proud to announce that we will be premiering the new MUNICIPAL WASTE music video for the track “Acid Sentence” off of their newest album, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE at booth #1736 at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con International. FANGORIA film crews helmed this gruesome video, which is sure to be a favorite with MUNICIPAL WASTE and FANGORIA fans alike.

“It seemed like a perfect fit,” says video director David McKendry. “The FANGORIA staff has always been huge WASTE fans, and when we heard they wanted to shoot a horror oriented video, we knew FANGO had to be part of the action.”

Bass player Phil Hall stated, “I have been a big fan of FANGORIA for years, so when I heard they were interested in producing a music video for MUNICIPAL WASTE, I was stoked. Just like any metal head, I am a fan of classic horror movies and who else would know that genre better than FANGORIA! I think the dark and gritty vibe of the new video fits the atmosphere of the song very well. I hope all the WASTE fans out there get a kick out of it!”

The song “Acid Sentence” is from the band’s most recent album, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, released by Earache Records. Based on the legendary serial killer John Haigh, the song/video center around a serial killer who bathes his victims in acid. The video was shot over several weeks in May and June of 2010 and features the band as well as plenty of FANGORIA style gore. The gore and body parts were provided by the world-renowned Dapper Cadaver, whose fine gore craftsmanship has graced TV shows like BONES and DEXTER.

Drummer Dave Witte on the collaboration- “It was a huge thrill to work with FANGORIA as they've been totally supportive to many artists over the years from Clive Barker to Romero and beyond, people who have uncompromising visions with their art and are pros all across the board. To me, as a fan and a musician, I couldn't be more thrilled that FANGORIA wants to support what we are doing with our music.”

FANGORIA will debut the video at the FANGORIA Booth, #1736, at 3pm on Saturday, July 24th. After this, the video will play once every hour until the end of the event. Director David McKendry will be at the booth during the premiere to answer questions and discuss the video shoot. To arrange an interview with David McKendry, please email rebekah@fangoria.com

Information on MUNICIPAL WASTE: Named by Billboard Magazine as one of the world's "up and coming" metal bands, Richmond, Virginia's MUNICIPAL WASTE have not only proven themselves worthy of the honor, but they have worked hard to become the undisputed modern leaders of the crossover genre. Founded by guitarist, Ryan Waste and vocalist, Tony Foresta in 2000, MUNICIPAL WASTE have gone from an underground sensation playing songs that incorporate elements of thrash metal, punk and hardcore (in the vein of DRI, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and NUCLEAR ASSAULT), to singlehandedly resurrecting a genre and finally defining it. Along with bassist, Land Phil and world-class drummer, Dave Witte, MUNICIPAL WASTE has taken its frantic, crossover-infused sound all over the world to high p raise from critics and fans alike. The band is still hard at work promoting their latest album, 2009's MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE. Supported by tours with LAMB OF GOD, headlining runs with the likes of BRUTAL TRUTH and GOATWHORE, as well appearances at major metal festivals the world over, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE has been the band's best-selling record to date
