Guitarist Adam Zaars leaves Enforcer

Guitarist Adam Zaars has announced his departure from the band Enforcer :

"After 5 years, 2 albums and almost 200 gigs in the band I have decided to tread new paths in life hence leaving Enforcer behind. I made this decision in January and told the band in China, on the way home from a truly memorable visit in South Korea and Japan. A good ending I figured. The decision was inevitable, yet of course a difficult one to make. I would like to thank the rest of the guys in the band for everything we've been through, the trials and the tribulations and the simply good times. I would also like to thank all the people that have helped us through the years. I want to wish Enforcer all the best for the future! 'Before the rise of the World, old curses speak to you now. Before I leave to reach the spiral I will leave you my legacy.'"

Commented the band on the upcoming shows :

"All shows and tours will however continue as planned. Even though it is a great loss for the band we must emphasize that this will not affect our future plans of world domination even perceptibly. The band will continue, head on without speed limit as planned without any change of style, musically or stylewise. From now on, Enforcer will continue as a four piece band where Olof will play both guitar and handle the vocal duties. Enforcer would also like to thank Adam for his time in the band and for all his contributions that made Enforcer what we are."

Enforcer withstands snowplough crash

published on November 10, 2010 by Darren Cowan
The band, who are on tour in Europe supporting Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE, were travelling from Oslo to Stockholm in a snowstorm at around 3:00am on the morning of 10th November and were near their hometown of Arvika when their vehicle skidded on ice, crossed over to the other side of the road and experienced a head-on collision with a snowplough.

ENFORCER guitarists ADAM ZAARS and JOSEPH THOLL, bassist TOBIAS LINDQVIST and the band's driver were battered and bruised, but miraculously all survived the crash with only minor injuries. A county police officer at the scene said, "They had a guardian angel".

The band's vehicle was destroyed in the accident, but their equipment, which was in a trailer attached to the vehicle, was luckily unscathed. ENFORCER frontman OLOF WIKSTRAND and drummer JONAS WIKSTRAND were traveling in a separate car at the time and were not involved in the crash.

The band have regretfully been forced to cancel their appearances tonight in Sweden and on the 12th and 13th November in Finland and will be using the time to recuperate and recover from the nerve-wracking incident. They will resume the tour on 16th November in Berlin, Germany.

ENFORCER have posted the following comment:

"We're all alive and well but we're really sorry to cancel the gigs in Stockholm, Tampere and Helsinki. We're working really hard to get back on the road again soon!"

The news of the crash has also been reported on the website of Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet at http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article8099659.ab

Enforcer finishes 'Midnight Vice' video

published on October 29, 2010 by Darren Cowan
Swedish heavy metallers ENFORCER have finished filming a new music video for the song 'Midnight Vice' in Stockholm, Sweden.

ENFORCER shot the video with famed director PATRIC ULLAEUS (DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE). The video sees the band doing what they do best - rocking out in a typical Swedish bar and around the city of Stockholm.

The track 'Midnight Vice' is taken from the band's new album, DIAMONDS. The video will be released in the next few weeks.

ENFORCER drummer JONAS WIKSTRAND comments:

"We finally finished the shooting of the video, after planning this for months. All of us had pain in our necks after one day of shooting from giving everything during our performances in the studio. I have a really good feeling about the video and I think it's gonna be killer.

"Working with Patric, who's made tons of videos during the last decades with huge success, has been a great experience. He's very professional and talented and I believe he's gonna make us look good. I hope the video's gonna be out soon so YOU can see it!

"Now, I'm looking forward to coming to see you on our upcoming tour with Airbourne! Stay tuned for more!"
