UK based metal heroes Dragonforce have announced that their long search for a new vocalist is finally over. After entries from thousands of hopefuls across the globe, the shredmasters supreme welcome 23-year-old Marc Hudson to the band to fill the boots left by ZP Theart, who parted ways with the band in March of last year.
“I'm really excited about being a part of the DragonForce family,” said Hudson. “It's always been my dream to dedicate my life to making music. I'm going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting for!”
Born in Oxford England, Hudson was picked from the thousands of applications via a number of impressive video auditions and live performances, which left the rest of the band in no doubt that they’d found their man. Since the age of 16, Hudson has been building his vocal skills, gigging with bands in the UK underground scene, developing a powerful style with influences which include Bruce Dickinson, Michael Kiske and Sebastian Bach.
Said founding member and guitarist Herman Li: “After almost a year of searching around the globe, it's great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc's expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the DragonForce sound that I am sure all the fans will love.”
The band has been working on a new album since early 2010, recording in various studios in California, London and the South of France. The follow up to 2008’s hugely successful Ultra Beatdown album will be highly anticipated, with top 10 and top 20 chart positions all over the world and a Grammy Nomination in the United States setting the precedent. With Hudson brought into the fold, the band is enjoying an injection of enthusiasm and hunger that sees DRAGONFORCE prepared to return more focused and determined than ever before.
“Everyone in the band is extremely excited about how the new material is shaping up.” Continued Li. “We haven't felt this kind of energy in the band for a long time. We can't wait to unleash the next DragonForce album later this year.”
The new album is expected to hit the shelves in September, with a full world tour to follow.
Korn have released a live video for "Alone I Break", which was filmed during the Monster Energy's Music As A Weapon V tour.

(New York, NY): In what promises to be the hottest tour of winter 2011, Korn and Disturbed, two of rock's biggest acts, are teaming up to co-headline this year's “Monster Energy Music As A Weapon 5 Tour”.
Jonathan Davis of Korn and David Draiman of Disturbed both spoke about how the 45-city trek across America came about:
"We've both just finished great tours. We headlined Mayhem and Disturbed headlined Uproar. The Disturbed guys came out to see us play in Chicago and we got to talking about doing something together. We both agreed that as cool as those types of tours are, they usually only hit major markets, and we both agreed that a lot of our fans just don't live in those cities, etc so we thought it would be cool to team up, put a big show together, and hit every great place that those big tours never get to. Besides all that, with us and Disturbed together, doing full shows with full production...all I can say is IT’S ON!" ...said the excited Korn frontman.
"We are thrilled to launch the Monster Energy Music As A Weapon 5 Tour with our good friends from Korn," added Disturbed singer David Draiman. "Every year we try to up the ante, and this year, by having Korn co-headline, we really think it's going to be our best tour yet. When the idea first came up, one of the main things both bands agreed upon and wanted to focus on was hitting a lot of smaller markets. It’s exciting to bring a show like this to cities that are usually skipped over on some of the other larger rock tours that only hit the major markets. We have a lot of loyal fans in these cities and we wanted to bring them a show that they deserve".
Tickets for the first leg of the tour are set to go on sale the weekend of December 4. The bands have decided that the first 1000 tickets from each show will be sold at a $5 discount during the on sale weekend in order to reward the early buyers and fans.
"A lot of promoters only offer discounted tickets a day or two before the actual show date. We wanted to do something for the fans that are buying their tickets as soon as they go on sale. To offer a discount upfront made the most sense to us," commented Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan.
"We're tired of promoters offering discounted tickets to last minute folks in order to sell the seats in the back of the gig. We'd rather give our fans a discount for buying early," said James "Munky" Shaffer, who is Korn’s guitarist.
The cities for the first leg of the tour are listed below. More tour markets to be announced soon.
In a collective statement from crossover kings SUICIDAL TENDENCIES: "Sunday Night ST played NYC to 2000 old and newschool Cycos! It's always great to hit the East Coast and catch up with a lot of our friends, bands and family. Unfortunately the NYC show will be the last show of this tour. Sadly, one of the band members had a parent pass away suddenly and needed to fly home to be with his family in this difficult time and handle all the funeral arrangements, etc. With heavy hearts, the band decided it would be best to postpone the remaining ST shows and make them up sometime next year. We appreciate your understanding, your thoughts and your prayers. Please give us a few days and we will try and let those who already have tickets how how to get refunds, etc. Again, we are so sorry to have to postpone these shows, but hope that everyone will be able to understand, and we'll do our best to make the dates up."
The postponed dates include:
11/17/2010 Metro – Chicago, IL
11/18/2010 Cabooze – Minneapolis, MN
11/20/2010 Summit – Denver, CO
11/21/2010 Sunshine Theatre – Albuquerque, NM
"Let the Guilt Go", the second single off Korn's new album "Korn III : Remember Who You Are" is available at artistdirect.com.
According to the site, "the video gets very spacey and a little scary, but it also tells a parallel twisted narrative of growing up—figuratively and literally."

New York, NY: Korn’s ninth studio album, Korn III: Remember Who You Are, which Spin described as “packing pain by the pound,” debuted today at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 sales charts. The album sold 63,000 copies. The album also debuted at #1 on the Hard Music Chart, both top and current, and is #1 on the Current Alternative Chart, as well. Korn III is the band’s seventh album to land in the Top 5.
Internationally, Korn III debuted Top 5 in Austria, Canada, Japan, Germany and New Zealand, Top 10 in Australia, Mexico and Switzerland and Top 20 in France, Denmark and Holland, with several countries yet to report. In almost every International market, these chart positions have exceeded the chart debuts from their previous albums.
Korn III has been universally praised, as it finds the Bakersfield, California band returning “to the sound and rawness of their first two records” (MetroMix.) The album certainly signifies a revisiting of Korn’s sturdy, firmly planted roots; they once again worked with producer Ross Robinson, who twiddled the knobs for their first two albums, yet Korn still play to the strengths and growth that they’ve experienced as a unit for the past two decades. Billboard proclaimed that Korn III “moves forward more than it retrenches” and “introduces some fresh dynamic sensibilities.” ARTISTdirect awarded the album five stars and declared that Korn IIII has “that gripping catharsis that made millions of people believers on Korn and Life Is Peachy. However, Korn stand even stronger than they did during those first two masterpieces.”
Korn are currently on tour, co-headlining the main stage of the third annual Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which is enjoying a 30% uptick in sales this year, bucking the trend of a down summer touring season that is seeing several cancellations.
Korn is Jonathan Davis (vocals), Fieldy (bass), James “Munky” Shaffer (guitar) and Ray Luzier (drums).
FANGORIA ENTERTAINMENT is very proud to announce that we will be premiering the new MUNICIPAL WASTE music video for the track “Acid Sentence” off of their newest album, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE at booth #1736 at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con International. FANGORIA film crews helmed this gruesome video, which is sure to be a favorite with MUNICIPAL WASTE and FANGORIA fans alike.
“It seemed like a perfect fit,” says video director David McKendry. “The FANGORIA staff has always been huge WASTE fans, and when we heard they wanted to shoot a horror oriented video, we knew FANGO had to be part of the action.”
Bass player Phil Hall stated, “I have been a big fan of FANGORIA for years, so when I heard they were interested in producing a music video for MUNICIPAL WASTE, I was stoked. Just like any metal head, I am a fan of classic horror movies and who else would know that genre better than FANGORIA! I think the dark and gritty vibe of the new video fits the atmosphere of the song very well. I hope all the WASTE fans out there get a kick out of it!”
The song “Acid Sentence” is from the band’s most recent album, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, released by Earache Records. Based on the legendary serial killer John Haigh, the song/video center around a serial killer who bathes his victims in acid. The video was shot over several weeks in May and June of 2010 and features the band as well as plenty of FANGORIA style gore. The gore and body parts were provided by the world-renowned Dapper Cadaver, whose fine gore craftsmanship has graced TV shows like BONES and DEXTER.
Drummer Dave Witte on the collaboration- “It was a huge thrill to work with FANGORIA as they've been totally supportive to many artists over the years from Clive Barker to Romero and beyond, people who have uncompromising visions with their art and are pros all across the board. To me, as a fan and a musician, I couldn't be more thrilled that FANGORIA wants to support what we are doing with our music.”
FANGORIA will debut the video at the FANGORIA Booth, #1736, at 3pm on Saturday, July 24th. After this, the video will play once every hour until the end of the event. Director David McKendry will be at the booth during the premiere to answer questions and discuss the video shoot. To arrange an interview with David McKendry, please email rebekah@fangoria.com

Information on MUNICIPAL WASTE: Named by Billboard Magazine as one of the world's "up and coming" metal bands, Richmond, Virginia's MUNICIPAL WASTE have not only proven themselves worthy of the honor, but they have worked hard to become the undisputed modern leaders of the crossover genre. Founded by guitarist, Ryan Waste and vocalist, Tony Foresta in 2000, MUNICIPAL WASTE have gone from an underground sensation playing songs that incorporate elements of thrash metal, punk and hardcore (in the vein of DRI, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and NUCLEAR ASSAULT), to singlehandedly resurrecting a genre and finally defining it. Along with bassist, Land Phil and world-class drummer, Dave Witte, MUNICIPAL WASTE has taken its frantic, crossover-infused sound all over the world to high p raise from critics and fans alike. The band is still hard at work promoting their latest album, 2009's MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE. Supported by tours with LAMB OF GOD, headlining runs with the likes of BRUTAL TRUTH and GOATWHORE, as well appearances at major metal festivals the world over, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE has been the band's best-selling record to date

Shortly after the announcement of top touring artists joining the BP boycott started by Grammy-award winning rock band KORN, a large contingent of top touring bands have joined the cause. New additions to the boycott against BP and its affiliates include Maroon 5, Shinedown, 30 Seconds To Mars, Chevelle, Sevendust, Puddle of Mudd, Neon Trees, Halestorm, Mutiny Within, Saliva, Soulfly, Story of the Year, Adelitas Way, 10 Years, Hail The Villain and the Carnival of Madness Tour. These touring artists join the already extensive list of those committing to avoid BP, bringing the total to 30 artists and two national festival tours (complete roster below).
“As someone born in Louisiana, this hits close to home. It is an already fragile ecosystem hit by this terrible and senseless tragedy of unprecedented proportions; it is heartbreaking that this has happened. As people work to find solutions to help deal with this catastrophe hopefully there will be new measures put in place to address the dangers of our complete and total reliance on fossil fuels.” – Jared Leto, 30 Seconds To Mars
“We've noticed the BP oil disaster being referred to as one of our country's biggest natural disasters, but let's be clear, this is a man-made disaster. Even the word "spill" is misleading, as what happened in the Gulf of Mexico was April 20th, 2010 was and is a systematic failure on the part of a corporation made too powerful by the exiting Bush Administration. Boycotting BP will not end our dependency on oil, or change the fact that our infrastructure is set up so that we all use oil in some capacity of our daily lives. But it sends a message loud and clear that consumers will not tolerate the kind of reckless irresponsibility and lack of respect BP has shown for, among many things, the myriad ways of life in the Gulf Of Mexico. If it makes even one company re-think it's safety measures, or maybe off-shore drilling as a whole, your voice is worth it. Until corporations grow a conscience, the only place to hit them is their wallet; their bottom line.
Is boycotting BP the answer to our nation’s dependency on oil? No. This disaster signals that America is overdue for radical changes in our infrastructure, not just a boycott. Are the gas stations you visit instead of BP perfect angels? No, but they are scared shitless that you might boycott them too, and if that's what it takes to get them to clean up their act, so be it. The worst thing that we can do is stand by and do nothing. Inaction will ensure that this happens again, so please be a part of the solution. Rise Against is proud to be a part of the growing list of bands that have committed to boycotting BP, and we hope you too decide to be a part of the solution in these tumultuous times.” – Rise Against
