The swedish black metal band Marduk has announced they are finishing the recording of their new album called "Serpent Sermon". It will be released this spring, and a listening session has been sheduled in stockholm on february 11 for journalists. More informations to come...
Guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams have announced their departure from Nevermore in this following statement :
“In a mutual decision Jeff Loomis and Van Williams have decided to leave Nevermore. The time has come to pursue our own paths from the group. Due to internal struggles and ongoing issues within the band, we feel it is our time to move on. We would like to thank all of our fans around the world for their years of love, support and enthusiasm. This was not an easy decision but a very necessary one at this point, may we all meet again someday, somewhere in time.”
Marduk will release a new EP titled "Iron Dawn" on May 27th.
"Marduk just finished the recording of 3 songs for an upcoming EP set to be released on the same day as the bands appearance at the Maryland Deathfest on the 27th of May. So the first chance to get your hands on it will be during that festival and the dates coming up during the 7 Bowls of Wrath tour. Release for the rest of the world has been set for the 30th of May. The songs included differ from the concept that is being created for the next full-length album, therefore this EP will be made available as a special treat for all Marduk Legionaries out there. The tile is set for Iron Dawn."

Bassist Jim Sheppard of Seattle metallers Nevermore will undergo surgery today (Wednesday, February 16) to remove a benign brain tumor. The band's vocalist, Warrel Dane, says, "Please, all metalhead brothers and sisters, send your positive energy for our brother."
Sheppard in 2006 missed a number of Nevermore shows after undergoing a minor procedure for Crohn's Disease, a condition he's managed for nearly 20 years. Filling in for Sheppard was longtime friend James MacDonough (ex-Megadeth, Iced earth).
"The Obsidian Conspiracy", the new album from Nevermore, sold around 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 134 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
The second episode of "Rusty Cooley's Guitar Asylum TV" -a new 30-minute television show headquartered in Houston, Texas- with members of death metal band Nile (Karl Sanders, Dallas Toler-Wade and George Kollias) is now available for streaming :
Following a successful North American run of dates on the Blackest Of The Black tour alongside Danzig and Possessed (among many others) as well as a march through Asia to close 2010 , Swedish black metal battalion Marduk are set to return to the U.S. for another round of live performances! The evil will commence on May 27 at the Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore and run through a week's worth of dates, closing on June 3 at the Williamsburg Music Hall in Brooklyn, New York. Support will be provided by Aura Noir, Black Anvil, Panzerfaust and HOD.

Having recently returned from a successful stint on the coveted Blackest Of The Black tour through North America playing alongside Danzig and Possessed (among many others), Swedish black metal squadron MARDUK recently set out to destroy Asia. The tour kicked off this weekend in China and will pummel its way through Singapore and several locations in Indonesia before drawing to a close on December 12th.
In related news, the MARDUK collective is celebrating 20 wrathful years of blood and iron since forming in 1990. Commented frontman Warrel Dane : “Working with director Nigel Crane was a great experience. We spent a day walking around the white cliffs in Dover the day before the London show and we couldn’t possibly be happier with the end result. The live part was shot at the O2 Academy Islington in London and we only performed the song twice that night so we had to make these takes count, so we went all out. It was pretty amazing that most of the audience knew all of the words even though we were a number of days away from the album’s release. Thanks for checking this out and we hope you enjoy it.”

Last saturday , the frontman of Nevermore , Warrel Dane , sang for the first time a few songs from his solo album "Praises to the War Machine" and some Sanctuary's songs at Studio Seven in Seattle , Washington.
