Chimaira keyboardist/programmer Chris Spicuzza has left the band :
"The choice was extremely tough and stewed around in my mind for quite awhile. Many things led to this decision. The situation in Chimaira had ultimately become a negative environment that I had to get out of. Secondly, the music industry is completely fucked and honestly, I became concerned for my future. The amount of work and stress I took on got the best of me. I guess if you're not happy or having fun, what's the point?:
As far as the new Chimaira album, I have not contributed to it. There is no doubt in my mind that CHIMAIRA's sound will not suffer minus my presence. The demos I heard showed great potential and I’m sure the album will melt faces. I'm proud to say I was on five Chimaira albums and wish those guys the best."
Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Murderdolls, 3 Inches Of Blood) will mix the band's new album, which will be released in August.
"Just wanted to give you a Six Feet Under band update and let you all know that we would like to announce our good friend Rob Arnold will be joining Six Feet Under as second rhythm guitarist for upcoming touring duties, as well as collaborating on the new CD. I couldn't be happier about the new songs and lineup! Rob and myself have been collaborating on new songs along with the band's new drummer, Kevin Talley, for the past few months. We are all feeling really excited about the band's future, and the raw intensity of the songs that we have created together so far. This is the heaviest most exciting material that I've worked on since 'The Bleeding' [1994 Cannibal Corpse record], and I'm stoked that Rob will be helping out creating this CD with us! We've all known each other for a while and we're really looking forward to continue writing the new CD and future tours. We are committed to taking Six Feet Under to the next level of brutality!"
Added Rob Arnold : "Its been an amazing honor and opportunity to have been called upon by one of my biggest idols, Chris Barnes!! Six Feet Under and the Barnes era Cannibal stuff had enormous effects on me as a young musician, and still do to this day. In 1996, I was a kid in the front row screaming my head off to Lycanthropy and Torn to the Bone... And now here I am, being asked to play the songs on stage with the band! Dreams do come true!!! And the stuff we've been writing absolutely RIPS! Watch out!!"
"After a decade of good times and achievements, our friend and band mate Jim LaMarca [bass] has decided to retire from Chimaira. We wish him nothing but the best as he settles in and starts a family. As for seeking a replacement… we'll cross that bridge down the line. In the meantime, consider it 'business as usual' with the Chimaira you know and love.
Emil Werstler [DAATH guitarist] will be handling the bass duties for the rest of the year, and we'll see you on the road!"

Commented guitarist Rob Arnold "Well, I hope that you U.K. fans are as excited to see us as we are you this coming October! Our last trip over with TRIVIUM was absolutely fantastic, and we can't wait to do it again while holding the reins. This time around we'll be playing a longer set with beefed up production, and we'll treat each show as our last as we close out 'The Infection' touring cycle.
It's been a crazy ride over the last year, and we're happy that our last stop will land with our loyal friends in the U.K.
Grab your tickets NOW, and don't forget to let everyone know that CHIMAIRA is coming back to terrorize this October!!
