Kirk Windstein, guitarist of Down, said the band would enter the studio at the end of the month. However, it will not be in order to write an album !
Indeed, the band will instead record four EPs, each with a different aspect: one rather heavy, another inclined to doom, etc..
The guitarist has justified this approach by explaining that today, no one wants to spend that much money in a CD as it's too expensive, and everyone prefers to download it for free. However, as an EP is cheaper than a CD, the guitarist hopes this will motivate the public to buy the EPs and not to download them !
Reminder:
As former bassist Rex Brown is no longer in the band, Patrick Bruderer (Crowbar) is now Down's bassist.
Not yet satiated by the free booze and such available to them over the last few American jaunts, hardcore blues band Eyehategod again prepare to ride around in a small crappy van and get as unhealthy as possible. The games will commence this February with a blatant hit to the Pacific Northwest in Seattle, Washington on February 5th at El Corazon. The performance will coincide with the club's six-year anniversary. From there, the depraved New Orleans-based sludge miscreants will preach to the unwashed masses in the following cities:
Eyehategod - February 2011 U.S. Tour
2/05/2011 El Corazon - Seattle, WA
2/16/2011 JB's - Philadelphia, PA

A video for the song “The Cemetery Angels” from sludge metallers Crowbar can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Dale "Rage" Resteghini who previously worked with Hatebreed and Anthrax. This track comes off the band's new album "Sever The Wicked Hand", to be released on February 14th, 2011 via Century Media Records in Europe.

Legendary NOLA sludge collective EYEHATEGOD will kick off another stretch of tour dates in support of absolutely nothing tomorrow in Birmingham, Alabama at the Bottletree. From there the band will pillage their way through 13 more cities before heading back home in time for holiday hedonism. Supporting the band in the pandemonium will be Phobia, as well as Crowbar, Goatwhore and Zoroaster on select dates [see listing below].
Commented vocalist Mike Williams: "EYEHATEGOD are excited to head out on this next USA trek and ready to do damage. EHG tours are one of a kind; each unique with its own abusive, miserable, broken features. Miss them now and maybe miss them forever..."
Added drummer Joey LaCaze: "The band is probably the tightest its ever been and different, more obscure songs have been added to the traditional set of all-time favorites. Get in the right frame of mind and vent all of your holiday frustrations."

Commented Kirk Windstein :
"The song has all the elements that CROWBAR are about: speed, then a killer, hooky pre-chorus, a hooky chorus and then a stupidly heavy and sludgy slow ending.
It's personal to me, because in New Orleans, the area is known for architecture in the cemeteries. Since the city is below sea level, the tombs are above ground and elaborate, and they say that cemetery angels watch over the tombs. I feel like angels are watching me as far as everything I've done. I'm not dead yet and have been sober for four months, and I have this whole new outlook on life and a brand new spin on everything. . . The opening line is 'You gave me wings and took the sky away,' which is a line from an [Alcoholics Anonymous] book. I am not a 'program person,' but that is precisely what alcohol did for me. It gave me wings and then took the sky away. Alcohol can make you feel good, but you are lost. So the lyrics are a spin on that."

New Orleans-based, doomed-out punk, blues and southern rock hardcore freaks, EYEHATEGOD, will head out on another American trek this December in support of absolutely nothing but the glory of hedonism and debauchery. EHG are the originators of a genre now known as "Sludge," a combination of raw, sick vocals and slow, heavy, down-tuned, grooving negative riffs that run together in a live setting in a sometimes volatile mess of guitar feedback, pounding drums, cigarettes, beer, vodka and hurt feelings. The band from New Orlean Crowbar has officially splited with the guitarist Steve Gibb and has replaced him with Matthew Brunson from Kingdom of Sorrow . Kirk Windstein (guitar , vocal) reacted : "We, of course, all remain very good friends with Steve Gibb, but his personal training business and gym are doing great, I'm happy to report, but that, and his family at home, simply do not give him the time to play with CROWBAR any longer. We love him dearly and thank him for his dedication while he was jamming with CROWBAR."
