Evile posts new track "Eternal Empire" online
published on June 6, 2011 by Zandra
"
Eternal Empire", a brand new track from British thrashers Evile, is available for streaming at this
location. This song comes off the group's new album "Five Serpent's Teeth", which will be released on September 26th.
Commented Evile guitarist Ol Drake : "
It is with great pleasure that we can release 'Eternal Empire' from our upcoming Five Serpent's Teeth album for your listening pleasure. It was very difficult to pick a single track to showcase the vast diversity included on this album, and I think this one is a good medium to show the direction we have gone with on FST. I can't wait for you to hear more of the album as, like I said, this album goes through quite a lot of different moods and emotions, in terms of feel and direction, yet is still rooted in the 'Evile sound'. The awesome Daniel P. Carter of Radio 1's Rock Show will be playing the radio debut of the track TONIGHT on BBC Radio 1, so tune in! We will also be showcasing another brand new track at Download Festival this weekend. Lots of Serpent's Teeth coming your way! See you on that road soon!"

British thrashers Evile have completed a UK headlining tour - the band's first shows on their home soil since spending months on the road in North America in 2010.
Evile played five shows around the UK with support from fellow British thrashers Elimination and Mutant. The band are next scheduled to perform in the UK at Hammerfest in Prestatyn on March 19th.
Evile lead guitarist Ol Drake looks back on the UK shows:
"Just got back from our short headline tour of the UK. We had a great time and it was a very successful run. Thank you to every single person who came out and supported Evile and all the other bands! I've never seen so many people running/flying towards me whilst I'm playing. It's very, very difficult to play our songs whilst watching for bodies flying towards you."
EVILE are this month's "Artist of the Month" on Rock Band Network. Lead guitarist OL DRAKE is also the latest artist to be spotlighted in the Xbox LIVE "Game with Fame" program. The guitarist will be on Rock Band 3 on Xbox LIVE tonight (Thursday, 17th February), challenging fans from all over the world to join
him in playing the latest tracks from the likes of Evile, Oceano, Cauldron and more.
OL comments:
"I'm about to take part in Xbox LIVE's "Game with Fame" on Rock Band 3 thanks to the wonderful people at Harmonix and Microsoft. It will be between 5pm and 8pm EST [10pm to 1am GMT] today. I warn you, I'm not very good. None of this "Expert" business for me, I just thought it would be cool to play and chat to some Evile fans who play Rock Band 3!"

Earache Records recently announced EARACHE EXTREME STAGE DIVING, a free, essential app for all metalheads, which is coming to the Apple App Store on November 29th for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Play along to a killer soundtrack of thrash, death and heavy metal as you throw a pesky stage diver off a festival stage and as far into the crowd as possible. Throw the stage diver as far as you can to get a high score on the global leader boards while trying to avoid objects such as bottles, merch stands and of course the festival favorite - the portable toilets!
Whereas most apps just include clips of songs, or at most a couple of full tracks, EARACHE EXTREME STAGE DIVING features ten full shredding songs. The full track list is as follows:
Evile - Thrasher
At The Gates - Suicide Nation
Bonded By Blood - Prison Planet
White Wizzard - Over the Top
Oceano - District of Misery

(0) Evile guitarist Ol Drake to bungy jump this Saturday
published on September 22, 2010 by Darren Cowan
OL DRAKE, lead guitarist for British thrashers EVILE, is preparing to bungee jump next to London's famous Tower Bridge this Saturday, 25th September along with Metal Hammer editor ALEXANDER MILAS.
OL DRAKE and ALEXANDER MILAS will be jumping from Pottersfield Park, next to Tower Bridge, at 10:30am on Saturday whilst dressed as cowboys. Fans are encouraged to head down and watch the brave metalheads throwing themselves off the 160ft crane.
OL DRAKE will be jumping in memory of late EVILE bassist MIKE ALEXANDER and in aid of the British Lung Foundation, while ALEXANDER MILAS will be jumping in aid of the Ronnie James
Dio 'Stand Up and Shout' Cancer Fund.
With just days left until the jump, OL DRAKE offers his final thoughts:
"I think I am more nervous of having to walk through London to get to the jump while dressed as a cowboy. If anyone gives me any abuse, I will spray them with the two water pistols I have. I will no doubt be shouting '
SLAYER' on the way down in honour of Mike. Looking forward to it! Hope to see some people at the bottom shouting things at us. In the name of Mike and
Dio, we shall jump off a big crane (never thought I'd be saying that, in so many ways).
"Right after I'm back down to earth safely I'm gonna have a pint of cider and then get back up to Huddersfield to leave on our 3-month US tour. Back down to earth, and back on the road."
Metal Hammer editor ALEXANDER MILAS adds:
"I watch the clock nervously as the moment of truth approaches and my mind is awash with self-doubt. Will the cord be strong enough? And more importantly: will I look sexy in a cape?
"Deep, resounding thanks to all who've generously contributed to this victory of foolhardiness over common sense - it's for a very good cause. In the name of Mike Alexander, Ronnie James
Dio and heavy metal, we'll be making gravity our bitch. Onward!"

(0) Evile in writing mode
published on September 3, 2010 by Zandra
British thrash metal band Evile has revealed that they are currently writing the follow-up to 2009's "
Infected Nations", and that they will work again with producer Russ Russel.
Commented lead guitarist Ol Drake : "We're well on our way into writing the material for Evile's third album now. We've been playing around with the odd part and riffs since 'Infected Nations' came out in 2009. I have about ten song ideas which are being built on daily, but not going to stop there. We're not going to limit ourselves this time to a certain number of songs. We're just going to write until it's time to give up and go into pre-production. We've been sending tracks/recordings/ideas back and forth between ourselves, Russ Russell and our management (Wiseblood) and there's an excellent vibe going.
"I don't want this to be a typical 'new album' update using the same descriptions and words most bands use to big up an album, so I'll just say the new stuff is really getting my blood boiling and my heart racing. We've been through a lot over the past year, and it's being naturally reflected in the music which is coming out. I've never been as passionate as I am now about writing the best material we can. With Joel in the mix, and him being a die-hard thrash fan since the '80s, I'm looking forward to see how this will turn out. Keep an eye on our website for more details, and come catch us on one of the 77 shows in September-December in North America! (If you don't see me I'll be busy riffing for the benefit of your ears.)"
Evile will also embark on a US tour from September 28 to December 18 :

(0) EVILE to bungy jump for DIO's charity
published on August 12, 2010 by Darren Cowan
In March 2010, EVILE's OL DRAKE issued the following statement upon realising his band had been nominated for a Metal Hammer Golden God award:
"If we win, I promise we will do a bungee jump, dressed as cowboys. I'm writing that without checking if anyone else will do it, but that's how I roll. But I definitely will."
Four months later, Metal Hammer Golden God award in hand, OL and EVILE are facing up to the consequences of that statement. OL DRAKE, lead guitarist of EVILE and recipient of Metal Hammer Golden Gods "Metal As Fuck" award, will bungee jump for charity dressed as a cowboy. Accompanying him will be ALEXANDER MILAS, editor of Metal Hammer magazine and winner of 2009 "PPA Editor of the Year" award.
To get an idea of the 170ft jump, go to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8Gk3emWTm4
OL DRAKE will be jumping in aid of the British Lung Foundation, in memory of late EVILE bassist MIKE ALEXANDER. The British Lung Foundation are the only UK charity that helps people with any lung condition. There are 8 million people in this country with lung disease - whether it's pneumonia, asthma, COPD, or lung cancer, the charity strives to be there for them and their loved ones. The British Lung Foundation provides information and support for people with pulmonary embolisms and their families via the help line, publications and recent scientific research into the condition. For more information, go to
http://www.lunguk.org
ALEXANDER MILAS will be jumping in aid of the Ronnie James
Dio Stand Up and Shout cancer charity, in memory of
DIO. Stand Up and Shout is primarily to provide free cancer screening programs and testing to the public regardless of any individual's ability to pay for it, and to provide financial assistance to cancer patients who are burdened with the cost of healthcare. For more information, go to
http://www.ronniejamesdio.com
The bungee jump will take place in September 2010. Join the Facebook group for more details:

OL DRAKE recalls how he nonchalantly suggested a bungee jump dressed as a cowboy:
"I remember when we were nominated for Best UK Band at the Metal Hammer awards. We were up against
Judas Priest, so naturally I thought there's no competition there. I thought, why not make a ridiculous statement that won't happen, because we can't, and shouldn't, beat
Judas Priest. I said I would bungee jump dressed as a cowboy if we won an award at the Golden Gods.
"Little did I know we would win the 'Metal as Fuck' award. I'm a man of my word, so I'm going to do it along with Metal Guru and MH Editor, Alexander Milas. Instead of it just being some silly joke, I thought it would be great to make this a jump for charity, and that's why I want to help raise awareness for the British Lung Foundation in memory of our late bassist, Mike Alexander, who passed away from a pulmonary embolism last year."
ALEXANDER MILAS comments on why he is standing by OL DRAKE and joining in this jump for charity:
"When Ol first told me he wanted to jump off a bridge in a cowboy outfit, I thought: 'wow, that sounds fucking idiotic – can I come?' So imagine my dismay when he later replied that he was actually serious. Why the cowboy outfits? I have no idea, but I figure if you're going into battle with gravity, you might as well do it in style, and generate some cash for a charity in honour of one of the greatest heavy metal singers of all time, Ronnie James
Dio. It's my hope that with this act of sheer metallic tomfoolery, we can help raise some cash for a truly worth causes, the Stand Up And Shout Foundation for my part, and the British Lung Foundation in honour of the late, great Mike Alexander for Ol."
EVILE and Metal Hammer thank you for your support.
