Commented Daniel Gildenlöw : "Finally the video for 'Where it Hurts' is officially released! I have longed for this moment for months.
With 'Road Salt' I decided from the start to be insanely brave — always going where the music and lyrics would take us and never hesitate or consider the consequences. This approach was very dominant already when we first started taking photos for the album. I found myself in situations I had never expected to find myself in — we dressed in skirts, waded knee-deep in ice cold lakes, lying in freezing and maggot filled swamp water, making out with relatives in front of the camera — the whole three-day shoot ending with a huge bonfire where we played acoustic music and burned furniture long into the cold Swedish night.
'Road Salt One', as an album, is a result of these same premises, and anyone listening to it cannot say anything else than that it is brave and uncompromising. I felt as hellbent on going our own way with this album as I did back in 2000 when we recorded 'The Perfect Element Part I'. 'Is this guitar too loud and dry? Let's see what happens if we go even further!'
I wanted to commit just as devotedly to the videos for 'Road Salt One'. The premises Brave and Uncompromising were very present here too. I wanted the video to land somewhere between '70s Asian karate movies on VHS, 'Kill Bill' and the aesthetic world of comic magazines from the '90s. Like everything about 'Road Salt One', I wanted it to be raw and brave yet beautiful.
The video is cut between two graphical environments or scenes. The scaled down and arty white, black-and-red scenes, representing the abstract and emotional, and the darker warm and grainy sex scenes, representing the physical. The video is revolving around themes of love, sex, hurt and reconciliation, and is reaching back to earlier videos and albums by PAIN OF SALVATION."

Commented Peter Tägtgren : "I really wanted something „Nightmare Before Christmas“ meets „Alice In Wonderland“ kind of feeling but with our mascot, the painhead in it. And Heile created that after what i wanted. And he did it in his own way. It really has this kinda Tim Burton feel to it. It will be really crazy with a big backdrop. We also gonna do some inflatable stuff with our Painhead. Its gonna be our Eddie, like IRON MAIDEN has it."

Johan became a dad in August (best wishes from us all), and the more time spent away from PAIN means the more time spent with his family. Michael is working with different side projects along with his work for Digidesign.
Now, the following months will be dedicated to PAIN and to finish the new songs. Up till today 8 songs are more or less ready to go, and at least 3 or 4 more are needed before we can start recording. Our plans are to start the recordings in late 2010 or early 2011, and have the album ready for a world wide release sometime in May 2011. After that we’re about to hit the road and do as many of the summer festivals as we can. Of course there will be a headline tour as well, and if everything works out we’ll even break new grounds. Work has also begun with designing a new stage set that will be something out of the average.
As you may understand we’re more eager than ever to record this album, make it the best, and play it for you live. So stay tuned and visit our websites for continuous information, studio reports, album details, and the first showdates for 2011.”

Candlelight Records today confirms September 28 as the North American release date for In the Absence of Light, the second full-length album from black metallers ABIGAIL WILLIAMS. Recorded at Conquistador Studios in Cleveland, Ohio, the album was mixed by Peter Tagtgren (Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, Celtic Frost) and features artwork by Farron Kerzner (Nachtmystium, Lightning Swords of Death).
In The Absence of Light is true to the rules of black metal. The vocals are harsh and shrill, sounding like the product of a lacerated larynx. Guitars buzz, rip and roar alongside articulate, rapid licks and blazing solos. Drums slam and crash like exploding mortar shells, whether battering with blast beats, double-bass rolls or syncopated snare hits. And there is just the right amount of haunting keyboard washes, a noted difference to the band’s previous album In The Shadow of a Thousand Suns. Vocalist/guitarist Sorceron notes, "There is a lot less keyboards on the new songs. I like keyboards, but before we started this record we decided to get rid of a lot of them because we wanted to do something different."
The album presents new band members, guitarist Ian Jekelis and drummer Ken Bedene. Joining Sorceron after ABIGAIL WILLIAMS' final tour in support of In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns last fall, the trio quickly got to work writing material that would become In the Absence of Light. The album’s eight songs contain far more urgency then the band’s previous material; songs written exclusively by Sorceron.
"We let ourselves have much more room with writing this album, kind of a more open, free environment than any we have employed before," reveals Sorceron. "We literally constructed the songs as we went. Ken would be in the drum room and Ian and I would be in the control room and we just played for hours. We would listen back and pick out what we thought was good and we put songs together. We recorded everything with much more ease and I think it has helped in capturing a very honest vibe."
Formed in 2005, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS have been called "a buzz band," and "a band to watch." They have endured more than their fair share of opposition, including revolving door member changes and in 2007 altogether disbanding. But through it all, the core of the band has kept a level head, a steady eye, and an unbridled passion for what they do. The band’s 2006 Legend EP and 2008 debut, In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns (produced by James Murphy and featuring Emperor drummer Trym Torson) have now sold a combined 35,000 in the US. The band has toured exhaustively including their most recent West Coast headlining dates.
ABIGAIL WILLIAMS recently confirmed their first tour in support of In the Absence of Light. Kicking off September 29, the band will perform alongside headliners Immolation and Vader, as well as Lecherous Nocturne and Pathology, for four weeks. Tickets are on sale now.

The Swedish industrial metal band Pain will release a live album that was recorded at the Zenith in Paris on March 23-24 , 2009 , during the tour with Nightwish .
"Cynic Paradise" , the latest album of Pain , will be available in U.S with a bonus CD including the live in Paris .
Peter Tägtgren will enter studio later in the year to record the new Pain's album .
According to a posting on the Pain web site, "hopefully [the new Pain CD] will be ready to blow your speakers by the end of 2010 or early 2011. The release will, of course, be followed by a headline tour."

The Swedish death metal band Hypocrisy had to cancel its Tour in U.S due to problems with work visas . However, the band announced that it would be possible to enter U.S in 2010 :
"It seems Santa has come early this year for HYPOCRISY! Today we received the good news that we are now all cleared to enter the country.
We are currently planning to come back to the U.S. sometime in early 2010! We will let everyone know very soon when the tour and line up is confirmed.Thanks to all our fans for supporting HYPOCRISY all these years!"
The band will also play in Sofia on February 27 , 2010 at the Blue Box Club , and the show will be filmed for a DVD .
