Attica
Rage’s take on biker rock is a stunning example of just how huge a small band can sound. All 14 tracks on Road Dog are brilliantly written, well mastered and kick ass so hard they smash the likes of
Godsmack, Steppenwolf and Rose Tattoo 500 miles under ground. With killer guitar riffs, catchy tunes and one of the best voices in metal I have heard, Attica
Rage deliver one of the best metal releases of the past ten years. Hold on tight because these bearded geezers are going to take you to hell and back.
Not one track from Road Dog is boring. Every fucking second on this album is jammed full of creative goodness proving that not only can Attica
Rage play, but also write an insane record capable of bringing down the roof from start to finish. Where tracks like ‘36 Insane’ and ‘Change in the Iris’ take a punchier approach to the music, tracks like the mosh pit anthem ‘Hacked for Vanity’ and the bluesy ‘Through the Inner Eye’ show just how diverse Attica
Rage can be, and boy this twist to your standard biker rock is ideal to sing along to, bang your head to, as well as just have a fucking blast to!
Compared to Attica’s last effort Road Dog is a huge leap into the big league. Everything about it has gone bigger and better. Where Ruin Nation sounded a lot slower and timid, Road Dog has completely rectified this making the album sound like it had been recorded and mastered by a band on the likes of Sony or Roadrunner Records. This professionalism makes the Attica
Rage experience all the better making songs like: ‘Ashamed’, ‘Contradictions’ and ‘Road Dog Forever’ blow your mind.
As well as the full force heavy metal on this album, Attica
Rage have decided to present the listener with the occasional mellower tune showing just how talented they are on each of their instruments. From the insane riff in ‘Lost’ to the instrumental track ‘Altea’, all the members of Attica rage get their time to shine, whether it be, shredding on the guitar, slapping of da bass, smashing of the drums, or whaling of the vocals it is 100% fucking magical.
Attica
Rage is still young, and many things are yet to come from the Scottish prodigies. All Attica
Rage need to do now is to now is to release another killer record, which can top the mighty Road Dog. However hard it may be, or how long it may take, I’m sure such a powerful force such as Attica
Rage can pull it off and only get better from the killer state they are already in!
